Which DPF is best for your truck and ensures maximum uptime?

When it comes to selecting the best Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) for your truck, we understand the importance of ensuring maximum uptime and performance. That's why we highly recommend the DAF Genuine DPF.

The DAF Genuine DPF is designed to perfectly fit DAF trucks, ensuring proper integration with the engine and exhaust system and meets the high-performance standards. This not only helps in meeting emission regulations but also enhances the overall performance as maximum uptime and lifetime of your truck.

DAF DPF Service

The transport company places a great deal of emphasis on quality and sustainable transport. A DPF that functions correctly is a prerequisite for meeting Euro 6 emission standards in Europe. Replacing it in a timely manner prevents vehicle downtime, stops increased fuel consumption and prevents serious damage being caused to the truck and the environment. Kornelis explains: "Our strategy is to replace the DPF in each truck after three years, because continuing to drive beyond this point can cost you up to two percent more fuel. Unfortunately, in the past we've had some negative experiences with having filters cleaned externally. The DPFs that were returned to us looked clean, but the quality was clearly substandard. We have opted for the DAF DPF Service because DAF guarantees the same quality and service interval as the original filter. In practice, we notice that less regeneration is required and there is lower fuel consumption. For us, the DAF DPF Service means certainty for our vehicles and maximum uptime. Avoiding downtime is a question of making the right choices".

Smart interaction.

In DAF trucks, the engine and the Emission Aftertreatment System (EAS) work together in an ingenious way to filter soot particles out of the exhaust gas. The DAF DPF is automatically regenerated at least once every 150 hours. This involves the engine management system elevating the DPF temperature to 510°C, resulting in the trapped soot particles being burnt off. The capacity of the DPF will decrease over time, and you'll need to have it replaced. The reason for this is that ash, the by-product of combustion, accumulates in the filter. Regeneration then has to be performed more frequently, leading to increased fuel consumption and the EAS ageing more quickly, which you naturally want to avoid. Preventive maintenance of the DPF helps to keep your DAF truck in perfect condition and ensures that it consumes less fuel.

Unique service.

During the DAF DPF Service, our service technician replaces the clogged DPF. Getting every last little bit of ash out of the filter channels is not simply a matter of blowing air through the filter, and this is why DAF Trucks has devised a unique cleaning procedure. Every channel in the DPF is sprayed under high pressure with special fluids to ensure optimal cleaning. The result is literally as good as new. The cleaned DPF is guaranteed to have the same quality as the original DPF and require servicing at the same intervals. Ignoring the service intervals leads to unnecessarily high fuel consumption and an increased risk of higher costs.
